About this tour

This 4-day private tour from Marrakech covers the Imlil valley in the High Atlas on Day 1 (overnight in the mountains), a full guided tour of Marrakech’s historic medina on Day 2 with dinner at a top restaurant, and on Day 3 a hot air balloon flight over Marrakech followed by Majorelle Garden and an evening in the Agafay desert with activities, dinner, and a live show. Private throughout — your group only. From 805€ per person.

Most visitors to Marrakech stay within the medina walls. This tour takes you beyond them — into the Atlas Mountains on Day 1, deep into the medina’s historic core on Day 2, and up into the sky above the city on Day 3.

It is three very different Marrakechs in four days, and the contrast between them is what makes this tour memorable. The silence of Imlil at altitude. The organized chaos of the Djemaa el-Fna at night. The Agafay plateau at golden hour with the Atlas Mountains on the horizon.

The tour is designed for travelers who want more than a hotel pool and a half-day souk walk. Every day has a genuine centrepiece — an overnight in the mountains, a private guided medina circuit, a balloon at dawn, an evening in the desert.

All transport is private door-to-door. All accommodation is included (Imlil and two nights in Marrakech). The Marrakech dinners are included — at Safran by Koya or Dar Yacout, two of the city’s most reputable restaurants. Lunches are independent — your guide will recommend the right spots for each day.

This 4-day private tour starts from 805€ per person — confirmed price provided at booking based on group size and accommodation preferences.

Itinerary

DAY 1 : Marrakech to Imlil — Into the High Atlas

Your driver collects you from Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK) or your hotel and heads south towards the High Atlas on the N9 road. The drive to Imlil takes approximately 75–90 minutes, climbing through Asni village before the road narrows into the Mizane Valley. Imlil sits at 1,740 metres — the air is cooler, the pace is slower, and the Atlas peaks above reach 4,167m at Jbel Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa. You'll overnight in Imlil at a traditional mountain guesthouse (gîte or auberge). Dinner and breakfast at your accommodation (not included in tour price — payable locally). This is the quietest night of the tour and one of the most memorable.

DAY 2 : Imlil to Marrakech — Medina Guided Tour & Dinner

After breakfast in Imlil, your driver returns you to Marrakech (approx. 90 minutes). You meet your licensed local guide for a full guided tour of the historic medina. The circuit covers the major monuments and neighbourhoods: the Koutoubia Mosque and gardens, Djemaa el-Fna square, the covered souks by craft specialty (copper, spice, leather, textile), the Medersa Ben Youssef, Bahia Palace, and the Saadian Tombs. The guide provides historical and cultural context throughout — architecture, Almoravid and Saadian dynasty history, medina life, and practical tips for independent exploration. Allow 3–4 hours for the full circuit. The evening features dinner at Safran by Koya or Dar Yacout — two of Marrakech's most respected traditional restaurants. Set menu included; drinks and alcohol are not.

DAY 3 : Hot Air Balloon, Majorelle & Agafay Desert Evening

An early start is required for the hot air balloon — flights depart at sunrise, typically between 06:00 and 07:00 AM depending on season. Your driver takes you to the launch site. The flight lasts approximately 1 hour and offers aerial views of Marrakech's medina, the Palmeraie, the Haouz plain, and the full Atlas range on clear days. After landing and the traditional post-flight ceremony (typically mint tea or light refreshments at the landing site), you return to Marrakech. Mid-morning: visit to Majorelle Garden — the 1920s botanical garden designed by French painter Jacques Majorelle and later acquired by Yves Saint Laurent, featuring the famous cobalt blue Villa Oasis and cactus gardens. After an independent lunch at your own pace (your guide will recommend nearby options), your driver takes you to the Agafay desert (approx. 35 km from Marrakech). Choose your activity: camel ride across the Agafay plateau, or quad bike off-road across the stone desert. Both offer Atlas Mountain views throughout. Watch the Agafay sunset — one of the finest easy-access sunsets near Marrakech. The evening closes with a dinner show at La Bohème, an Agafay venue known for its Moroccan entertainment, live music, and outdoor setting under the stars. Return to your Marrakech accommodation after the show.

DAY 4 : Departure

Your driver transfers you from your Marrakech hotel to Marrakech Menara Airport
(RAK) or your onward destination. Departure time is flexible — coordinated with
your flight schedule at booking.

Frequently asked questions

The tour starts from 805€ per person. The final price depends on your group size, choice of accommodation level in Imlil and Marrakech, and any optional upgrades. Smaller groups typically pay a higher per-person rate; larger groups benefit from a lower per-person cost. Contact us via WhatsApp +212 600 316 681 or email [email protected] for a confirmed quote based on your exact group size and travel dates.

One night in Imlil is included (a traditional mountain guesthouse or auberge in the village). Two nights in Marrakech are included. Accommodation standard is comfortable and well-located for each stage. Upgrades to higher-category properties in Marrakech (riad boutique, 4-star hotel) can be arranged — contact us to discuss options at booking.

We present both options to you at booking and the final choice is yours. Both are well-regarded Marrakech restaurants with strong reputations. Safran by Koya offers a contemporary Moroccan dining experience. Dar Yacout is a grand traditional riad restaurant, ideal if you want the full classic Marrakech dinner experience. The dinner menu is set; drinks and alcohol are not included and can be ordered separately.

Hot air balloon flights operate subject to weather conditions — they are wind-dependent and may be rescheduled by the operator if conditions are unsafe at dawn. This is standard practice for all Marrakech balloon providers. In the unlikely event of cancellation, we will reorganize Day 3 around an alternative activity and refund or credit the balloon cost. Flights are most reliable from October through April. July and August can experience more weather variability.

The included Agafay activity is one choice: either the camel ride or the quad bike. If you want to do both, a combined buggy and camel package can be arranged as an upgrade — please request this at booking. Note that our Agafay Buggy & Camel Ride product uses a side-by-side buggy (not a solo quad), which is the preferred option for groups traveling together.

No. Lunches on all four days are independent. Your licensed guide on Day 2 and your driver on other days will recommend trusted restaurants appropriate to each location and budget. In Imlil, your guesthouse can usually arrange a simple lunch or your driver will suggest a local spot. In Marrakech, there are excellent options at all price points near every stop on the itinerary.

Free cancellation up to 15 days before departure — full refund, no penalty. Cancellations within 15 days of departure may be subject to partial charges depending on accommodation and activity pre-payments. Contact us as early as possible if your plans change and we will do our best to assist.

Yes, with some age considerations. The Imlil overnight and medina tour are suitable for all ages. The hot air balloon requires children to be able to stand in the basket for the duration of the flight — typically from around age 6, though operators vary; confirm at booking. The Agafay camel ride is suitable from young ages. The quad bike has a minimum age of around 8–12 depending on operator. The La Bohème dinner show is family-friendly. Advise us of children's ages when you book so we can confirm suitability for each activity.

Yes. The tour runs year-round and winter (December–February) offers some distinct advantages: Imlil may have snow on the higher peaks above the village, creating spectacular mountain scenery. The medina is significantly quieter in winter, making the guided tour more immersive. Hot air balloon conditions are generally excellent in winter. The Agafay is cooler and more comfortable for activity. Bring warm layers for Imlil — temperatures at 1,740m can drop to 0°C or below at night in January and February.

Contact us via WhatsApp +212 600 316 681 or email [email protected] with your preferred travel dates, group size, arrival details, and any specific requests. We will send you a confirmed price, itinerary, and booking details within 24 hours. A deposit is required to confirm your reservation.
