Most visitors to Marrakech stay in the medina and see only the city. This tour takes a different approach — it uses Marrakech as a staging point for three completely different environments, each one a genuine contrast to the last.
You land at RAK and go directly to the Agafay. Within an hour of touching down, you are checked into a desert camp with the High Atlas on the horizon. The afternoon belongs to camels, buggies, and quads. The evening is a dinner show under open skies. You sleep in the desert on your first night — not in a hotel room.
Day two brings you into Marrakech itself, but with half a day and a guide rather than a full day of wandering. The medina is more legible, less overwhelming, with someone who knows it. That evening, a rooftop dinner in the city — the menu is included, drinks and alcohol at your own expense.
Day three takes you west to Essaouira, 185 km along the Atlantic coast. The drive passes an argan oil cooperative — a genuine stop at a women’s cooperative, not a tourist detour. Essaouira itself is cooler, quieter, and architecturally unlike anything else in Morocco.
Day four is a direct private transfer back to RAK for departure.

Your Atlas Wings driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name board. From passport control to vehicle in minutes — no taxi queue, no negotiation, no waiting at ranks. The Agafay camp is approximately 50 km from the airport, 45 to 60 minutes by private vehicle.
Check in at the camp and choose your afternoon activities: camel ride across the plateau, off-road buggy through the rocky desert terrain, or quad bike on the open landscape. The High Atlas Mountains are visible throughout — the setting is dramatic even in afternoon light. The camp swimming pool is available between activities.
As the sun sets over the Atlas, the camp moves into the evening. Dinner is served under the open sky — traditional Moroccan spread, live music, and a performance typically including Gnawa music, Berber percussion, and fire display. Night one: sleep in the desert.
After breakfast at the camp, your driver collects you for the 35 to 40 minute transfer into Marrakech. Drop-off is at your riad — luggage is left while you head into the city.
Choose your Marrakech morning: a guided medina circuit covering the key monuments — Koutoubia Mosque exterior, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and Djemaa el-Fna square — or a visit to Majorelle Garden and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum. A local guide leads the half-day session.
The afternoon is yours — the souks, a hammam, a café in the medina, or the riad courtyard. That evening, dinner on a Marrakech rooftop is included in your tour price: a set menu at a carefully selected address above the medina. Drinks and alcohol are not included and ordered separately on the night.
Recommended departure around 8:00 to 8:30 AM. Essaouira is 185 km west of Marrakech — the drive takes approximately 2.5 hours on the N1 road, well-maintained throughout.
A genuine women's cooperative on the Essaouira road — not a commission shop. Members demonstrate the traditional argan extraction process by hand: cracking the nut, grinding the kernel on a stone mill, and separating the oil. The visit is unrushed and educational. Cold-pressed argan oil is available to purchase directly at fair prices. No pressure to buy.
Arrive late morning. Your driver drops you at the nearest point to your riad or hotel — no vehicle can enter the historic medina. The afternoon is free: the Skala de la Ville ramparts and canons, the working fishing harbour, the beach, or simply walking the blue and white alleys at your own pace. A certified local guide is available as an optional add-on for a structured city visit. Dinner in Essaouira is at your own choice and expense — the harbour fish stalls and terrace restaurants near Place Moulay Hassan are both excellent.
Your driver collects you from your Essaouira accommodation for the return transfer to RAK. The journey takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. We recommend departing at least 3.5 to 4 hours before your flight to allow for the drive, check-in, and security. Your driver confirms the recommended departure time with you the evening before based on your flight details.

Yes. All three nights are included: night one at the Agafay desert camp, night two at a Marrakech riad, and night three at a riad or hotel in Essaouira. You do not need to book or pay for accommodation separately.
The Agafay camp dinner show is included on night one. The rooftop dinner set menu in Marrakech is included on night two. Drinks and alcohol at the rooftop dinner are not included and are ordered and paid for directly. Lunches on all four days are not included — your driver can recommend good local options at each stop. Breakfasts at the camp and riad accommodations are typically included by the properties.

The Essaouira afternoon and evening are free by default — you explore the city at your own pace. A certified local guide for a structured visit of the medina, ramparts, and harbour quarter is available as an optional. If a guided visit is important to you, request it at booking.
Yes. The tour works well for families traveling with children. At the Agafay camp, children from around age 8 can participate in the buggy and quad activities — passenger seats are available for younger children. The camel ride is suitable for most ages. Essaouira is relaxed, walkable, and very family-friendly. Please tell us your children's ages when you book so we can confirm activity suitability at the camp.
Yes — winter is one of the most rewarding times for this itinerary. Marrakech is quieter and comfortable for walking in December and January. The Agafay camp in winter means cool, clear evenings and dramatic Atlas light — the dinner show under a winter sky is particularly atmospheric. Essaouira in winter is the city at its most authentic: fewer tourists, full Atlantic swell, and a working-town energy that disappears in summer. Pack warm layers and a windproof jacket, especially for Essaouira. All roads on this circuit remain fully accessible in normal winter conditions.
